Report bbc project.

The BBC Project!

my idea

for my bbc project I decided to base it on and around Liverpool fc. this is because I support the football club and I believe there is a lot of history behind it. including things like the culture and the way that the people are. when it came to Liverpool we were different and that's what I wanted to show to my audience(football fans and even just people in general).

 target audience

my project is directed to anyone that is interested( most people will most likely be from around 13 onwards to about 20 to their 30's) in the history of football or just football in general.
this is because it shows intimidation to any rival teams that watch this. its also for anyone that does things like maybe history lessons as it may also show some of the history of there own home and how it was back then.

research

3 BBC stories I looked at

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-50747813
this was just a general layout for my bbc project. it is used later on for my bbc page I have created(scroll down)
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50719836
this website and the next linked website were both used for my research because it showed me types of things to write about and what links to put and what thumbnails

5 channels of research:

https://www.liverpoolfc.com/history/timeline
I used this to gather intel for what history Liverpool has
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_disaster
this was used to seach for the smaller details of the disaster
https://edition.cnn.com/2016/04/25/world/hillsborough-disaster-fast-facts/index.html
I used this to find the main key points such as the date, amount of deaths and the injury count.

these pieces of research are there because they all gave me different views and bits of data about the Hillsborough disaster. this is good as it means I can get many different views and see many different points of the story from the people involved to the people watching it and more.

my final story

video idea

the idea of the video was to show the history and origin of Liverpool and how it all started. it showed many things from our past and showed who we was back in the day and what our culture was like. from the families that watch it at home to the football stars that run up and down the pitch for 90 minutes.
CULTURE?

video post production

these 4 photos show some of the different things I done within my post production time.

upload to YouTube

testing of BBC video and gathering feedback.

these where some different things from different people:

  • masau is a ghost
  • little explanation for the image in the background
  • the table seems really high
  • the table stays in the same place but you move
  • an iphone gets a notification halfway through
  • audio is only ever in the left ear
  • sound levels are good
  • the images of salah and gerrard disappear at different times
  • you say end it which should be cut out at the end of ted's interview
  • the ending is abrupt

paperwork(risk, recce, equipment list)

my equipment list involves mays things such as a shotgun mic/boom mic, a bunch of spot lights, a SD card, radio mics, a tripod, a Panasonic avc cam

Evaluation

over all I believe that my project went okay but I could do a lot better to describe what I'm doing and to be more confident about my project as now due to that my video is very short as there is not much of me speaking and talking about Liverpool as a whole due to my shyness. if this wasn't a issue then I would do a lot better because I would be able to do more things such as talking about my project and explaining their past and what the culture is like.

report on youtube documentary

YouTube documentary

the idea

I have created a documentary on storm Doris to show people what the weather is really capable off
I done this as its a very valuable lesson to many people as many people miss judge the weather due to how advance our building skills and other things are. now it will show to many people about the weather and different problems it causes.
in this I used a variety of different transitions and different effects.

my research

https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/double-decker-bus-blown-over-12649223 I used this website show find out what incidents had actually happened

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2943995/storm-doris-update-uk-weather-forecast-damage-floods/
this shows all of the after maths of storm Dorris and how they effected us

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4256874/Storm-Doris-death-toll-3-wind-pulls-mother-road.html
this was a major piece in my work as it was the only death throughout storm Doris

feedback

many people watched my video and many people commented different things
some prior things where to
  •  change my background through out the documentary
  • sort the audio out as it distorts creating a really bad noise
  • shorten the video to give more attention to people
  • some cuts are jarring, perhaps some transition shots would help.
  • , try trimming some clips down to just the interviews, as there are some extra bits that are more for the editing.

my target audience.

my target audience was aimed at no-one in-particular. this is because it was educational for all ages. If I was to aim this at a certain aged it would be for people that are currently in school and learning.
this is because they can learn about the different case studies such as storm Doris to then learn how they work and what their features are.

documentary

video idea

the video idea was to create a video which explored the different views of how a storm could effect a family. we interviewed many different people and we explored how it effected different areas of the country and what chaos it had caused.

storyboard and script

Script….
(exterior, outside building, wide tracking to close.)

A: Since storm Doris there are still people being affected by it. From homeless to people that have lost members of families.
Today I’m going to go back and look at the reasons why it happened and what the storm caused. Now some people may think oh it was just a stronger gust of wind than usual, but it was more than that causing all sorts of problems throughout England and wales. Starting from fallen lorries to collapsing trees, storm Doris was one of the strongest winds we’ve had in the history of UK extreme weather.

(interviews beginning) (shot 2, interior, wide still studio)
So here today I have ………… with me and today we’re going to be talking about storm Doris.
What was your first experience of storm Doris?
……………………………………………………………………………………...
So ………. How was you effected by the wrath of storm Doris?
……………………………………………………………………………………
Knowing these things did this effect other members of your family.
……………………………………………………………………………………
If you could go back and change your experience of the storm what would you do.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………..
That what ………………………… and thank you for coming and joining us today on here
(interviews ending) (interior, mid shot to wide creative studios hallway.)
So, there you have it folks the brutal storm showed no mercy to anyone. And here’s how it begun, first it started with fallen trees, but we could deal with that a few trees had fallen we could remove them in no time. Then it was trees falling onto cars. We still weren’t too worried, yet the reporters still told us to stay inside. Then something unbelievable happened. A woman dead, death by debris, never have I ever seen someone more shocked in my life. From police to reporters to the presenters.
Now to many people this was a major warning to stay inside. Yet schools where still open people still went to work, and kids still went to the park to play. On the 23rd of February 2018 at approximately 1:20pm a bus driver had a disturbing crash. Whilst passengers where abroad the double decker but was tipped by the brute force of the raging winds storm Doris brought with it.
A lot of people asked how storm Doris was created, many people replied tail winds but in fact, storm Doris was caused by a weather bomb. this is when a gush of wind is formed under a Jetstream and causes the wind to rapidly increase in speed while the air pressure decreases causing giant gusts of winds meaning the wind has increased in speed and causes more problems.
My name is Ainslie Andrews and thank you for watching.

what I did in my post production time.

here is my post production. I spent most of my time editing and after that I went through to see if I could change anything such as my videos involving a greens screen to create better quality videos and have better sound so there's no feedback or any distortion.

research for my article

I used man different sources for my research. some are shown in the final production of my documentary. flashing between the different slides I showed many things like the tragedy of the woman who was killed by murder or the bus that was tipped by the raw force of the winds that storm Doris brought with it. some of the links to these things are

uploading it

when it came to uploading it I added in a whole new thumbnail and included a bold title to it.

paperwork for the recording(recce, risk assessment, equipment list

evaluation

overall I believe that I done good with my project but I believe that I could've made a shorter version as it drags a bit and I could've increased the audio quality to increase the performance of my video. but I believe that for my 2nd project I have set some really high standards for the rest of them meaning that from now on I will only improve on my work and my level of quality will either remain or get higher over the time in this course.

story boards

for this shot I will do a wide shot but to change it up I could tack it to me or I may zoom in to a medium shot. this is because it interacts with the background more.

this contrasts between all three different shots and changes up between them like tracking or switching between shots like mid to close up or wide to close up.
some of these shots will be used in my documentary  like the wide tracking shot, this is because it changes up the background and how it is and how it performs
I will use close ups to build dramatic tension between the character and the viewer I could use a mid shot for things like maybe shooting videos over somebodies shoulder to create the effect of speaking to one and other.

storm dorris

storm dorris has effected a huge part of england and wales and its strength frightened us all.it haunted us day in day out for a few day storm dorris with scrambled all through England and wales and not only injured but kill people.

as it hunted down its targets storm dorris put anything down in its way from lorries to double decker buses to trees and even roofing on some buildings. this created chaos throughout the country from blocking roads to killing people to even making people homeless. jobs where lost vehicles damaged and businesses destroyed. at one point during the storm all buses from my local village where called in, the wind was to strong.they had already had one incident with a double decker bus now all bus companies had to be cautious. this endangered the lives of passengers and the driver

mean while in whales the wind was so strong it hand caused debris to fly around and hit a young woman damaging her head and later on killing her.roads blocked and a Ferrari sunk. however that Ferrari wasn't driven into the water. it was pushed by the brute force of the wind.

storm dorris was caused by a wether bomb. this is when a gush of wind is formed unda a Jetstream and causes the wind to rapidly increase in speed while the air pressure decreases causing giant gusts of winds meaning the wind has increased in speed and causes more problems.

in conclusion I would suggest to stay in during a storm such as storm doris for your own protection and the others around you .

bbc main project

youll never walk alone?
the history of liverpool fc.

this title shows that this team is more than just a team. its a family, this family has a wild crazy and happy atmosphere. this shows how important it can be to some people because of there beliefs. from the atmosphere all the way to there anthem. the way they sing it, with so much passion and pride and confidence because they are proud to support their team.

alone the anthem brings a atmosphere no other team could create within there anthem. this is because people nowadays mostly just the team that is 'the best'. but back in the day it was from origon if your family supported them or you are from liverpool you now support and bring courage to the team because everyone is like a big family.

the video here shows all of liverpools most treasured memories from our first win to our most recent win in the champions league. this shows how just fans alone react to make something so small such as a football seem so big through out the courage that we bring to anfeild stadium and where ever else we go around the globe, no matter the areana we will never walk alone.

the hyper link takes you to the current football league table to show you our current position in the league. this shows how skilled Liverpool really is and why we all believe in them.
there will also be hyper links to the history of Liverpool such as the Hillsborough disaster.
https://www.liverpoolfc.com/history/timeline
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_disaster

the video will split up the history from the quotes and comments from Liverpool fans. this is because in the video I will interview 2-3 people on there personal opinion of Liverpool, questions such as what is your personal opinion of Liverpool and do you believe Liverpool is overrated average or underrated. I will also mentions questions like was mo salad really worth the money to show emotion within the person I will be interviewing.

photoshop

my experience with photoshop goes back in time. I used to be a streamer and a youtuber so I had to create things like thumbnails. with this experience I  was able to take my skills to the next level and start to blur things and sharpen things to make them stand out more.
with some assistance by someone else I managed to make a high quality picture, but due to photoshops faults I wasn't eligible to blure the background

notes, with foxy

camera
Sound

must have headphones
mic: boom mic, directional mic, 416

aka shotgun/rifle
external mic:
avoid distortion
in these pictures here underneath I'm plugging in a 3 pin xor cable from the mic to the camera, I'm also changing the Channel for the head phones so one mic goes through one ear and the other mic goes through the other ear, this allows a more wider range of sounds and effects.

white balance

telling the camera what the colours are
interior tungsten
exterior  the sun
in this picture below I'm using the auto white balance. this changes theorem temperature colour through the camera to allw the high quality filming, but going from inside a building to outside changes the camera look meaning that you have to re do the auto white balance

exposure

dark or light?
zebra setting
iris changes sizes
nd filters
in this picture I use the zebra effect to show anything that is over exposed in the classroom. this mens the contrast between colours are not too bright or to dark that you cannot see them.
focus

focus on certain things
outline objects from there background
 area of frames sharp?
focus wheel
this picture shows me using the focus wheel to manually focus in on certain objects.
framing

use a variety of different shots
wide mid close
in this picture I am recording people from different angles to show different views. in this picture it is a wi angle as it includes many people  concentrated throughout the video.

Induction project

The topic for the short film project was an object, we came up with the idea that a fuggler goes around and eats and licks random stuff. The film then ends with the monster licking Tony.
On our second day we started shooting, we used a variety of shots and sequences such as close ups, wide angles pan sequences. Our director (Ted) instructed Tony on how to act and arranged his positioning on camera. Later that day we reviewed our footage and decided what else we could add or still needed to shoot.

We used a tri pod (legs) to get many stable shots of the main character, then our cameramen (Luke and Ainslie) got many mid shots and shot the same scene in a variety of angles. The settings for inside that were used were: ND filter on 0, and Auto White Balance. We redid the White Balance for outside, and put the ND filter on full, to account for the increased exposure.

On the next day we did reshoots and started the editing process later on in the day, on one of our sequences we used lighting equipment to add dramatic effect to the scene. The finishing touches have been done on the fourth day such as final stages of the editing and adding credits.

Also we added music and sound to add more depth to the piece. We added sub sequences which makes it easier to edit, also we used curves which allow us to separate the channels and adjust each of them.

The idea we had was for the film to be funny and stupid, we all think we manged to pull it off in our final product. They key framing was also well put together and adds the effect we wanted. But we have made some improvements such as timing and we have added a static effect to add more comedic value and to piece the two scenes together.

The transition effects we used were fade in and outs and key frames. Finally we slowed down some of the footage to increase the duration of the short film and it opened up new opportunities to add more music and edits. Then we added the final credits and finished the edit process and our short film is now ready to be presented. Our group's view on our final piece is that it has come out better than expected and we have reached they goal we set at the start of the project.

induction

the object!

on my first day we was given a project. a project that evolved around one object, our object was a fluffy toy, known as awsten, for this we have created a vision of  the object licking things, this creates a unique video that no one has every thought of.

For this project we have been given a time limit of around 3 days, to learn and use equiptment,
so we got to work. the first day we the came up with ideas and mapped out all of our areas, including the hallway and many more, to gather any problems such as hazards or anything which may endanger us.
